The CS-150 Pipe Rack Mat has long been recognized to improve the efficiency of tripping pipe by reducing potential lost time and eliminating unnecessary risks.
CS-150 is a 100% solid urethane elastomer safety mat and is made of a higher density polymer than our standard traction pads. This custom formulation offers extreme hydrolytic stability, anti-fungal properties and ultraviolet stability. Fluid channels are molded directly into the design in one direction facilitating drainage and providing extra traction. These pads are built to withstand the compression and weight of drill pipes. CS-150 resists the effects of invert and other corrosive drilling fluids.
With directional drilling becoming a prominent and important part in almost all drilling operations, efficiency needs to be a part of every operator's playbook. The historic method of racking pipe in birdbaths and on gator racks slows operations down when multiple pipe strings are in use. In addition, if a rig hand misses a racking peg, the operation becomes disrupted when they have to (in most cases) pick the pipe back up and reposition it. This not only adds trip time, but also increases the potential for an accident by disrupting the flow and possibly creating pinch hazards.
By using the CS-150 Pipe Rack Mat, operations can be carried out more smoothly and eliminate the need to position pipe more cautiously on the pegs that are designed and spaced for only one size of pipe.
